What is a resin-bound driveway?
Natural aggregate is mixed with a clear resin and trowelled out as one continuous surface. The stone stays bound in place rather than sitting loose, so it does not travel onto paths or into the house.
Because it is laid as a single layer, there are no joints across the drive for sand to wash out of or weeds to establish in. The finish stays even, and routine upkeep is mostly sweeping and the occasional wash down.
Resin-bound surfacing can allow water through, but a driveway is only genuinely permeable if the whole build-up beneath it drains as well. Over sealed concrete, water still has to be taken away by falls or a channel. That is decided on site, not assumed.
